The last 10 photos of the pieces featured in this blog post were part of an organised event to brighten up the Sheffield Antiques Quarter, the vision was the brainchild of Hendrika Stevens with a little (a lot) help from Kisk (Smashproof), coordinating artists. I wasn’t able to go on the day, but many others did. The event was such a success, they are doing it again in September this year.

Love this lady’s work. A thing of beauty by Fem Sorcell.

Two faces, two very different styles, like them both, no idea who did either of them.

Got an invite to a ‘One Night Only’ Pop up shop, showcasing the art of Bob. I am a big fan , wasn’t going to miss it, and it was perfect, held in a derelict shop which added a gritty ambience to the event. The prices were very reasonable and I could have happily brought most of what was on display home with me. But I forced myself to settle for the piece above, and a few months later was lucky enough to acquire the piece below, which I absolutely adore as the dog in the painting is the absolute double of my girl Stella ¬†ūüôā

Sheffield Street Art Exhibition

A couple of weeks ago I was waiting for a bus when a well known Sheffield Graffiti Artist pulled up in his car and asked me if I wanted to go and have a look at a new graff/streetart project that was going on in town, so I did!

DSCF3507 DSCF3527

The idea behind it all I can’t even begin to explain but as events go, this is certainly unique. The place was already looking great.

DSCF3528 DSCF3773

The sheer amount of work involved has been staggering, but despite a few hiccups along the way, it appears that the deadline will be met and the exhibition opens on Saturday 5th December 2015.

DSCF3785 DSCF3967

The standard of work throughout is fantastic and it’s all Sheffields’ own talent on display.

DSCF3974 DSCF3959

Artists include Pawski, Shoe, Jaer, Eugene Booms, Marcus Method, MilaK, Foundry, Trik9, CoLor, Dose and more…DSCF3762¬†¬†¬†DSCF3766

Not just floor to ceiling, this includes floor and ceiling, potentially the worlds largest graffitied and painted space.

DSCF3985¬†Personally I can’t wait to see it finished. Pete Mckee, local artist and legend was on the local news tonight, he said that Sheffield is a city of culture, I believe he’s right hopefully this exhibition will prove it! Spread the word!

Hellooo!

So, I’ve been away for a while if anyone noticed, I’ve moved my blog to another host and haven’t got a clue what I’m doing, I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually.
